Savithri Gaddipati

A Graduate in Home Science and Post Graduate in Sociology & English, Savithri. G was trained in reputed social development organizations and participated in workshops nationally and globally in social development sector. She was instrumental in the profiling of beneficiary data and implementation of IT solutions in the MEPMA Head Office. A constant urge in social development is positioning her work through continuous learning and innovation in field work.   

Savithri G has 38 years of experience in Social mobilization activities for Urban Poverty Alleviation through livelihoods and community development programs. Experienced from grassroots level implementation to the state level policy making with path breaking work as Community Organizer in Kadiri ( 4 years) , Project officer in Kadapa and Ananthapur (10 years) ,  C&DMA office , Hyderabad for 2 years, Community Development Officer in APUSP ( Andhra Pradesh Urban Basic Services for the Poor) DFID funded program at  Hyderabad  ( implementing in 42 class 1 towns across united Andhra Pradesh for about 7 years from 2000 to 2007)  and as State Mission Manager (IB) at MEPMA ( Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas) Head office till 2014-15  , Project Director, MEPMA in Anantapur district from 2015-16 to 2018-19 (3 years), 2019-2021 State Mission Coordinator, Capacity building and SMM livelihoods ( 2 years) and Deputy Commissioner , Anantapur Corporation (2021 to Jan’2024) 2 and half years and finally positioned as Additional Mission Director,MEPMA Feb’2024 to July’2024 ( 6 months ) and retired from services after attaining superannuation on 31.7.2024.

The Core competencies of Savithri G include:  

• Action Planning for Urban poverty alleviation activities at various levels.

• Organizing community based structures from lane level, slum level, ULB level, District level and state level.

• Focusing on poorest of the poor women including vulnerable groups of physically challenged and mentally challenged people to organize into CBOs and imparted several capacity building programs from grass root level to state level to the above groups.

• Capacity Building programs at all levels from ULB level to state level through developing social capital system in MEPMA.

• Policy making for executing the tasks at all levels.

• Preparation of ToRs (Terms of Reference).

• Implementation experience and expertise from grass root to policy level.

• Facilitated Family counseling, Neighborhood watch, neighborhood policing through CRP system/secretariat system at ward level.

• Livelihood promotion to SHG women.

• Promotion of Health in urban areas.
